Hugo showed once again that he is in excellent form by winning the WTT Star Contender Ljubljana title on Sunday (16). He played five matches over three days in the Slovenian capital, winning 16 games and losing only two. Hugo beat Denmark’s Anders Lind, South Korea’s An Jaehyun, Sweden’s Mattias Falck, South Korea’s Cho Daeseong and France’s Felix Lebrun to claim the title.

This is his seventh WTT event title. Previously, Hugo won the Contender Rio de Janeiro (2024), the Contender Muscat (2023), the Contender Durban (2023), the Contender Doha (2023), the Star Contender Doha (2021) and the Contender Tunis (2022). Hugo is 6th in the ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) world rankings with 3,580 points and is closing in on 5th place, just seven points behind Felix Lebrun (3,587).
