As soon as Hugo won his fifth Pan American title, in El Salvador, he flew to France for the WTT Champions Montpellier, his next challenge on the international table tennis circuit. The competition, scheduled for October 22-27, is one of the most important on the calendar.

Hugo is the #3 seed in the WTT Champions Montpellier. The competition features the best players in the world rankings in each event – check out the full list of players here.

Hugo has had a solid season at the WTT events in 2024. This year, he won two titles (WTT Star Contender Ljubljana and WTT Contender Rio de Janeiro) and reached two other finals (WTT Champions Incheon and WTT Star Contender Goa).

BRAZILIANS IN MONTPELLIER

In addition to Hugo, the WTT Champions Montpellier will also feature another player from Brazil: Bruna Takahashi, ranked #19 in the world.

COMPETITION SYSTEM

The WTT Champions Montpellier will feature men’s and women’s singles events in a single-elimination system, with 32 players in each bracket.

Matches will be played in best of 5 games until the quarter-finals. From the semi-finals onwards, the matches will be best of 7 games.
